Description
Romantic 4 Star self catering holiday cottage in the Peak District.
Cowbell Cottage is a traditional 18th century stone holiday cottage nestling in the delightful and ancient village of Bonsall near Matlock on the edge of the Peak District. Our self-catering cottage has a "home from home" character and provides a romantic and peaceful retreat for two people:-
• 1 double bedroom
• 1 well behaved pet dog welcome
• Village location
• Imposing gritstone fireplace with log fire
• Non smoking
• Original beams, rug covered floor and comfortable sofas
• Pub serving good food within short walk
• Price includes linen, bedding, fuel
An initial supply of fuel for the fire in the living room is supplied.
Enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding Derbyshire Dales from our delightful garden, which has two patios and an arbour, so you can follow the sun during the day and the stars in the evening.
Bonsall village has two pubs serving food and nearby is the Farm Shop.
Cowbell Cottage is an ideal self catering base for walkers and guests simply wishing to relax.
Accommodation
Cowbell Cottage is a comfortable and well equipped "Home from home" as some guests put it.
The living room boasts original beams, rug covered floor, original gritstone fireplace with log fire and comfortable sofas to spread out and relax. There is a radio/CD player and a combi TV/VCR/DVD, along with a selection of videos, DVD films and music CDs.
We provide a welcome pack to get your stay off to a great start - includes wine, freshly baked bread, tea, coffee, milk, butter.
The double bedroom has views over the nearby hills (you don't have to get up to enjoy the view) and next door the tiled bathroom has a good sized bath with electric shower above.
The kitchen is fully equipped with gas oven and hob, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer, microwave and a washer/dryer.
The staircase is easy to climb, but you need to duck your head under the old 'ship's beam' that runs from the living room.
Parking is safe and easy to find off the High Street.

Location
The ancient and beautiful village of Bonsall, situated at the entrance to the Peak District in the Derbyshire Dales, is just over 2 miles from Matlock, 5 miles from the market town of Wirksworth and around 40 miles from Sheffield and 18 miles from Derby. Bonsall is still a working village, involved in agriculture.
Bonsall is a great base for walkers, cyclists and holidaymakers to explore the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District.
