Newly renovated Dove Cottage (sleeps 2-4) and The Lodge (sleeps 2-6) are situated five minutes walk from the wellknown viewpoint at Monsal Head and on the edge of the small, quiet village of Little Longstone slumbering in a sheltered spot below Longstone Edge.
Outstanding views towards Chatsworth, Bakewell, Matlock and the Derbyshire Dales.
Walks from the door - a different walk every day of your stay and friendly, knowledgeable owners who can provide tips on the best places to visit.
2 Pubs within easy walking distance - choose from the Monsal Head Hotel - which serves delicious food, or The Packhorse - small, friendly village pub with open fires and a warm welcome. Both pubs are featured in the national Good Beer Guide.
The Lodge
The Lodge is rated 4 stars and sleeps 2 to 6 + cot. It is in a delightful south facing position approached by its own drive and enjoys outstanding views. The original building has been extended to provide comfortable roomy, split level accommodation. It may be suitable for people with limited mobility.
On the ground floor there are two bedrooms, a twin and a double. The shower room has a shower cubicle, water basin and toilet. Upstairs there is also a second bathroom with bidet. There is a now a third twin bedded room which can be used by larger parties (up to 6) There is a 25% supplement for use of this bedroom.
An L-shaped kitchen/dining area with fitted limed oak units adjoin the lounge which has a log burning stove and french windows opening onto private gardens and the surrounding countryside.
The Lodge has gas central heating (the first £10 of fuel is included (£5 for short breaks), a first supply of logs is provided and there is a DVD player & TV. Pets can be accommodated by arrangement. No smoking inside.
Dove Cottage
Available now after major renovation. All facilities have been upgraded, whilst maintaining a country cottage style, but prices will remain the same for 2009!!!
Dove Cottage has a 3 star rating and sleeps 4 + cot. It is a two storey cottage adjoining Chestnut Cottage which has its own entrance and largely faces away from the main house so it is not overlooked. There are views over the field to Longstone Edge and towards Bakewell and Chatsworth.
From the driveway and garden you enter the cottage through a stable door into a hallway/dining area. This leads into a seperate kitchen with views over the garden. The modern unfitted kitchen units house an electric oven and halogen hob, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. The lounge is at a higher level and has a beamed ceiling with comfortable seating for four with a log burning stove.
The stairs lead to two cottage style bedrooms (one double and one twin-bedded) and the new shower room has a corner shower unit, toilet and washbasin. We will accept 1 Dog at Dove Cottage by prior arrangement.

Weekly terms for the The Lodge range from £265 to £571 per week. Short breaks from £132. Weekly terms for Dove Cottage from £236 to £495 per week. Short breaks from £118.
