Luxury Holiday Cottages In Dronfield

Dronfield is on the old Turnpike road from Chesterfield to Sheffield and is bordered by the Peak District National Park.  Although close to the bustling city of Sheffield and the market town of Chesterfield, Dronfield is in fact completely surrounded by some lovely countryside and makes a good base for a 'two-centre' style holiday where you can take in the bright lights one day and escape to the Peak District the next.  The town has a fine Gothic church, which celebrated its 850th anniversary recently and in its attractive centre there are some solid historical buildings around the High Street and Church Street. The Peel Monument, a tribute to Sir Robert Peel to celebrate the repeal of the Corn Laws, was erected in 1846. The attractive original manor house is now used as the town library.  There is a thriving market, which is held on Thursdays and there are shops selling local Derbyshire produce in the area.  Dronfield plays host to an annual gala and is perfectly situated for renting luxury holiday cottages to visit the Well Dressings in the nearby villages in July. Dronfield and its surrounding villages make great places for a break in one of the area's luxury holiday cottages.
