Description The perfect rural retreat.  Winnow cottage is a newly renovated period barn conversion which offers luxurious self-catering accommodation for up to 4 people.  The cottage was the original home of the owners and the furnishings reflect this. Winnow cottage enjoys a lovely courtyard setting with spectacular views over the tranquil village of Wardlow and beyond.  This really is the heart of the Peak District.  The spectacular Monsal Dale is just a mile up the road.  There are a huge variety of walks on the door step from a leisurely stroll to hiking and climbing. There are two pubs close by and a cafe offering an excellent cooked breakfast!  Further afield there are many lovely country Inns where good home cooked food can be enjoyed. So many attractions are easily accessible from Winnow Cottage.  The attractive market town of Bakewell and Buxton Spa are just a few miles away, or an escape to the peaceful setting of the Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall. The excitement of Alton Towers is close enough for a fun day out. The accommodation briefly comprises a large dining kitchen with farmhouse rustic table, fully equipped with all the crockery, cutlery and pans you will need for your stay.  There is an electric double oven, gas hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave. In the lounge there is luxury leather settees, a large window seat with panoramic views, TV and a DVD player. There are two bedrooms with many of the original barn features visible.  The master bedroom provides breathtaking views over the village and the Peak District beyond.  The second bedroom has the original ‘A’  frame feature beaming to the ceiling. The bathroom is tiled with a bath with shower over, toilet, washbasin and heated towel rail.  A combi-boiler provides plenty of hot water. Your stay at Winnow Cottage includes all the bedding and towels you will require for a comfortable stay. There is off road parking for two cars and secure storage for bikes etc. Pets are welcome at Winnow Cottage by prior arrangement provided they are house trained and well behaved.  Guests must provide suitable bedding, feed bowls etc and are expected to keep pets off the beds and furnishings.  Pets must not be left unattended at any time and must be on a lead when outside.  Guests are expected to clear all mess and place in the bin provided. Winnow Cottage is a non-smoking cottage to maintain the high standard of decor.  However, there is a bin provided outside for those wishing to smoke. Due to the quirky nature of this barn conversion it is not practical for very young children or people with limited mobility.
